The Essence of Great Images

Most will agree, when you see a great image - something inside us says "WOW".

I'd suggest the simple reason is that great images send visual signals to our minds that transcend what we otherwise see as we look at the world around us.

To create a great image - we need to create visual cues that reach more deeply to our viewers. While the science of photography is highly technical, success comes when our creative minds rise above and lead the photographic process.

There are many elements we can apply to increase the visual experience.  These include the use of proportions, repetitions, perspectives, depth of field, subject placement, light, dark, colors, hues, luminosity, textures, reflections, contrast, saturation, etc.  All can be important, but likely the most important is that our images capture great lighting.
